Thousands of people in Wales from all backgrounds suffer forms of domestic abuse every day. Whether the abuse is from your partner, ex-partner or family member, Aberconwy Domestic Abuse Service can help.

WHO WE ARE

We offer a relaxed and friendly venue, specifically tailored for adults and their children experiencing or escaping domestic abuse. We have a dedicated team of professionals that provide a number of different support services for people affected by domestic violence and abuse, and their children. We provide emergency accommodation, immediate and longer term support for women, men and children.

WOMEN'S REFUGE

A refuge is home for you and your children (or just you). It is an ordinary house shared by women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. Professional staff visit daily to provide practical and emotional support.

Your stay in refuge can be short (overnight) or longer term and should be a positive experience for you and your children. Contact us by ringing 01492 872992.

Come and visit us in our relaxed and friendly fully-accessible venue, specifically tailored for adults and their children experiencing or escaping domestic abuse.

ADULT COUNSELLING SERVICE

We can offer free counselling service to survivors of domestic abuse.  For more information and a referral form please contact us.

OWN MY LIFE PROGRAMME

An innovative, creative, educational12-week course. The course enables women to regain ownership of their lives after they have been in a relationship with someone who has hurt them.

Key in the Lock

CHILDREN

Children are welcomed in refuges too. Our aim is to give children and young people a good experience while they stay with us. We provide outreach support for children in the local community, liaise with schools and help children to establish positive social links.

A 10-week program for children to explore their feelings around domestic abuse. The aim of the program is to help rebuild family relationships and to support children in understanding that domestic abuse is not their fault. The program is broken down into age groups, with each group having its own specific needs taken into consideration .

We can offer counselling sessions within the school environment or at the centre.  Sessions are held either weekly or bi weekly. Please contact us for more information
